This Raleigh homeowner was having trouble accessing the exterior entry to his basement-level workshop. Before, he would walk down the opposite side of the deck and through the yard to get to the little red door seen at the bottom right portion of the house. After hearing the client’s needs, our deck builder designed a new layout with stairs coming from each side of the deck. Additionally, we added a stone patio to ensure a smooth transition from the stairs to the workshop.
We always try to do as little as needed when we are working with an original structure. It’s important to have an experienced deck builder to know when you can use the original framing and when it’s time to tear it down and start from scratch. In this case, it was a total teardown. The new deck includes a landing, two sets of stairs, solid rod spindles, and lighting with wiring concealed within each post.
As we enter the outdoor season, take a look at your existing deck. Is it in need of a makeover? Often times, we can “re-deck” right over top of your existing structure saving you time and money. Contact our deck builder today for a free consultation!
